Bill and Donna first contributed to the Maple Leaf Legacy Project while on a cruise to Bermuda. They had learned of the project just prior to embarking on the cruise in October, 2002. While alongside at Kings Wharf, they visited the Royal Navy Cemetery Bermuda and photographed the eight Canadian grave sites and later photographed graves in the Ottawa area.
